Ofcom: online safety and children's wellbeing

As Chief Economist at State of Life, advising Ofcom on how to evaluate children’s wellbeing impacts linked to the Online Safety Act.

Wellbeing guidance for appraisal

Co-author of the Treasury Wellbeing Guidance to Appraisal. I deliver the Wellbeing Valuation training course as Chief Economist with State of Life.  

GCSE attainment and lifetime earnings

I developed the Department for Education’s GCSE ‘lifetime productivity’ model, their Schools Policy Appraisal Handbook, and in-house cost-benefit analysis app. This package won a few gongs, including the John Hoy Memorial Award for Best Economic Analysis in Government.

Place2Be

My Pro Bono Economics work on the social value of
mental health interventions: the economic evaluation of Place2Be’s counselling service in primary schools. This pioneering study was featured in carried by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, making national new and featured in several TV and radio talk shows, .  

Tavistock Relationships

I worked twice as a consultant to Tavistock Relationships, to demonstrate the social value of couple’s therapy for parents. This work featured in national media, won awards in Government, and helped to secure funding through the Spending Review.
